PNG University of Natural Resources and Environment is set to strengthen its agricultural training capacity through a partnership agreement with the Taiwan Technical Mission.
The collaboration, which is scheduled to be formalised in May, will focus on enhancing practical agricultural skills training for students and supporting local communities through improved farming practices and knowledge sharing.
Strengthening practical training
The planned partnership reflects UNRE’s continuing commitment to hands-on teaching, applied learning, and rural impact. By improving access to practical training opportunities, the University aims to equip students with relevant agricultural skills that can be applied both on campus and in communities across the country.
The collaboration also reinforces the importance of knowledge sharing in agriculture, especially in areas that directly support food production, livelihoods, and local capacity building.
Formal signing to follow
More details on the partnership will be announced next month at the formal signing. The agreement is expected to mark another positive step in strengthening UNRE’s role in agricultural development and training in Papua New Guinea.
