The Department of Sustainable Fisheries and Marine Resources is one of the four departments in the School of Natural Resources and supports teaching, research, and practical training in fisheries science, aquaculture, and marine conservation.
The department uses marine and aquatic environments as living laboratories, preparing students for careers in fisheries, aquaculture, conservation, and marine resource management in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region.
